Turkism

Turkism is a cultural and political movement that emphasizes the unity, identity, and interests of Turkic peoples—ethnic groups sharing linguistic and historical roots across a region stretching from Turkey to Central Asia. It promotes the idea that these groups, despite national differences, have common cultural heritage, history, and aspirations. Turkism aimed to foster solidarity, preserve Turkic languages and traditions, and sometimes advocate for political or territorial interests. The movement has varied in form over time, influencing national identities and regional cooperation among Turkic nations.
