Tsunami waves

Tsunami waves are large, powerful ocean waves caused mainly by underwater disturbances like earthquakes, landslides, or volcanic eruptions. These events displace a vast amount of water, generating waves that travel at great speeds across the ocean. Unlike regular waves, tsunamis have long wavelengths and can remain deep and unnoticed in the open sea. When they reach shallower coastal areas, their energy compresses, causing the waves to grow taller and devastatingly high, often flooding and destroying everything in their path. Tsunamis can occur suddenly and require prompt evacuation to stay safe.
