Tsar Simeon I was a ruler of medieval Bulgaria in the 9th and early 10th centuries, known for strengthening the state and cultural development. Under his reign (reign approximately 893–927), Bulgaria expanded its territory, reformed the government, and promoted religious and literary activities. He supported the creation of the Cyrillic alphabet, which helped in spreading literacy and Christianity.
