Trust Territories
Trust Territories were regions previously administered by countries under the United Nations’ supervision after World War II, instead of full independence. These territories were often colonies or territories that lacked the capacity to govern themselves. Administered as "trusts," their goal was to prepare these areas for self-governance and independence. Examples include the Pacific Islands like the Marshall Islands and Palau. The trust relationship was meant to ensure responsible management and development, ultimately leading to the territories achieving independence or self-governance.
