Tropicamide
Tropicamide is a medication used in eye examinations to temporarily relax the muscles that control the eye’s pupil size and focus. When eyedrops containing tropicamide are applied, they cause the pupil to widen (dilate) and prevent the eye's muscles from contracting. This makes it easier for eye doctors to examine the inside of the eye and retina. The effects usually last for a few hours, during which vision may be slightly blurred and the eyes are more sensitive to light. It is commonly used during comprehensive eye exams to assess eye health.
