Trophoblastic Neoplasia

Trophoblastic neoplasia is a rare group of tumors that develop from cells related to the pregnancy process, specifically those that form the placenta. These tumors can originate after a pregnancy event like a miscarriage, molar pregnancy, or normal birth. They can grow quickly and may spread to other parts of the body if not treated. Types include choriocarcinoma and placental site tumors. Although serious, they are often highly treatable with chemotherapy and close monitoring, making early detection and diagnosis important for effective management.
