Treaty Power

Treaty power refers to the government's authority to negotiate and enter into international agreements known as treaties. In the U.S., this power is vested in the President, who can negotiate treaties with other countries, often with the advice and consent of the Senate. Once ratified, treaties become legally binding agreements that shape international relations and domestic law. The treaty power allows the government to manage foreign policy, establish trade agreements, and address global issues, integrating international commitments into national legal and policy frameworks.
