Treaty of Roskilde
The Treaty of Roskilde was signed in 1658 between Denmark-Norway and Sweden during the Northern Wars. Denmark ceded significant territories—such as Skåne, Halland, Blekinge, and other areas—to Sweden, greatly expanding Swedish territory in the Baltic region. This treaty marked a major shift in power, making Sweden a dominant Baltic power, but Denmark regained some of its lands in later years. It’s an important historical event that influenced the borders and political landscape of northern Europe.
