Treaty of Hudaybiyyah

The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was a peace agreement in 628 CE between the Prophet Muhammad’s followers and the Quraysh tribe of Mecca. It allowed Muslims to perform pilgrimage the following year and defined peaceful relations, preventing conflict for ten years. Although some saw it as unfavorable to Muslims initially, the treaty ultimately provided stability, enabling Islam to spread more widely. It demonstrated the importance of diplomacy and strategic patience in achieving longer-term goals, and is considered a pivotal moment in Islamic history.
