Treaty of Almizra
The Treaty of Almizra, signed in 1244 between the Kingdom of Castile and the Kingdom of Aragon, aimed to resolve territorial disputes in the eastern part of the Iberian Peninsula, specifically between the regions of Valencia and Murcia. This agreement defined borders and established peace between the two Christian kingdoms after the Reconquista, the process of reclaiming territory from Muslim rule. It helped shape the political landscape of medieval Spain and facilitated further Christian expansion in the region. The treaty is significant for its role in the historic relations and conflicts among the various kingdoms during this period.
