Treasurer of the Navy
The Treasurer of the Navy was a historical position in the U.S. government responsible for managing the Navy Department's finances, including handling funds, issuing payments, and overseeing financial records. This role ensured that naval operations and administrative functions were properly funded and accounted for. The Treasurer was also involved in issuing Treasury Department bonds and other financial instruments related to naval needs. Although the position was eventually phased out or merged with other financial offices, it played a key role in maintaining the financial integrity and accountability of the Navy’s operations during its existence.
