Transpiration

Transpiration is the process by which plants lose water vapor from tiny openings called stomata on their leaves. As the plant absorbs water from the soil through its roots, this water travels up through the stem and reaches the leaves. When the stomata open to allow for gas exchange (such as taking in carbon dioxide), some water vapor escapes into the atmosphere. Transpiration helps regulate the plant's temperature, draw nutrients from the soil, and maintain the flow of water and minerals throughout the plant. It’s a vital part of the water cycle and plant health.
