Transmittance

Transmittance refers to the percentage of light or other electromagnetic radiation that passes through a material without being absorbed or reflected. For example, if a clear glass window has a transmittance of 90%, it means 90% of the light hitting the glass goes through it, while the remaining 10% is absorbed or reflected. Transmittance helps us understand how transparent or opaque a material is and is used in applications like optics, photography, and environmental science to measure how well light can pass through different substances.
