Tort liability in agency occurs when one person (the agent) acts on behalf of another (the principal) and causes harm or damages to a third party. If the agent is negligent or intentionally harmful while performing their duties, the principal can be held responsible for those actions. This means both the agent and principal can face legal consequences. Essentially, if you’re operating under someone else's authority and your actions cause injury or loss to someone else, the person you represent might also be liable for the harm caused by your actions.
