Tornado Alley

Tornado Alley refers to a region in the central United States where tornadoes are most frequent and intense. This area includes parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and nearby states. Tornado Alley experiences these storms because it’s where warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico meets cold, dry air from Canada and the Rockies. The clash of these air masses creates ideal conditions for thunderstorms and tornadoes, especially in spring and early summer. While not every area within Tornado Alley will see a tornado each year, the region generally has a higher risk compared to other parts of the country.
