Tomatillo
A tomatillo is a small, round, green fruit related to the nightshade family and closely associated with Mexican cuisine. Often called a "huskwrapped tomato," it has a papery, husk-like covering and a tangy, slightly citrusy flavor. Despite its appearance, it’s technically a fruit, but it’s commonly used as a vegetable in cooking. Tomatillos are typically eaten cooked or raw in salsas, sauces, or stews, adding brightness and acidity to dishes. Nutritionally, they are low in calories and a good source of vitamins C and K, making them a nutritious addition to a balanced diet.
