Token Ring

Token Ring is a networking method where computers are connected in a circle, and access to the network is controlled by passing a special data packet called a "token." Only the computer holding the token can send data, preventing conflicts and collisions. Once it finishes transmitting, it passes the token to the next computer in the ring. This regulated system ensures orderly communication, making it reliable for managing data transfer in local networks. Token Ring was popular before Ethernet became more common, especially in enterprise settings, due to its structured approach to network access.
