Tlaxcaltecs
The Tlaxcaltecs were an indigenous people in Mexico, known for their resilient culture and resistance to the Aztec Empire in the 15th and 16th centuries. They inhabited the region of Tlaxcala and were skilled warriors and farmers. Despite frequent conflicts, they ultimately allied with Spanish conquistadors, helping to overthrow the Aztecs. Their alliance was crucial in Mexico's colonial history, and today, the Tlaxcaltecs preserve their unique language, traditions, and identity, contributing significantly to Mexico’s cultural heritage.
