Titanic disaster

The Titanic was a large, luxurious passenger ship that sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 after hitting an iceberg in the North Atlantic. The collision caused the ship’s hull to rupture, flooding several compartments and making it impossible to stay afloat. Despite being considered unsinkable, inadequate lifeboats and poor emergency preparedness led to the loss of over 1,500 lives. The disaster highlighted the limits of technology and safety measures at the time and resulted in significant improvements in maritime safety regulations worldwide.
