Timurids
The Timurids were a Central Asian dynasty founded by Timur, also known as Tamerlane, in the late 14th century. Rising to power after the decline of the Mongol Empire, they ruled over a vast territory that included parts of modern-day Iran, Afghanistan, and Central Asia. The Timurids are known for their significant cultural contributions, particularly in art, architecture, and literature, fostering a rich Persianate culture. They established cities like Samarkand and Herat as cultural centers. The dynasty declined in the 16th century, but their legacy influenced later empires, including the Mughal Empire in India.
