Thracians

The Thracians were an ancient group of tribes that lived in the region roughly covering modern-day Bulgaria, northern Greece, and parts of Turkey, from around 6,000 BC. Known for their warrior culture, they were skilled horsemen and fighters. The Thracians spoke their own language, and their society was organized into various tribes. They left behind impressive burial mounds and rich art, particularly in metalwork and pottery. Although they were influenced by neighboring cultures, such as the Greeks and Romans, the Thracians maintained a distinct identity until their eventual assimilation. They are often remembered for their legendary king, Spartacus.
