Thomas Sankara

Thomas Sankara was a revolutionary leader and the president of Burkina Faso from 1983 until his assassination in 1987. Known as “Africa's Che Guevara,” he implemented radical reforms to promote self-sufficiency, education, and women's rights, while fighting against colonialism and imperialism. His government focused on agricultural development, public health, and anti-corruption efforts. Sankara's vision of social justice and his charismatic leadership inspired many in Africa, although his tenure was cut short when he was overthrown in a coup. Today, he is remembered as a symbol of integrity and revolutionary change in African politics.
