Thomas Klopstock was a German poet and playwright, born in 1724 and known for his influential works during the Sturm und Drang movement, which emphasized emotion and individualism. Klopstock's writing is characterized by its lyrical beauty and philosophical depth, making him a key figure in German literature. He not only helped shape the literary landscape of his time but also influenced later writers, including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller. He died in 1803.
