Third World

The term "Third World" originally referred to countries that were not aligned with either the Western bloc (led by the United States and NATO) or the Eastern bloc (led by the Soviet Union) during the Cold War. Today, it often describes developing nations with lower economic indicators, such as income, education, and healthcare. While the terminology has evolved and some prefer terms like "Global South" or "developing countries," "Third World" remains in use to highlight issues of poverty, inequality, and the challenges faced by these nations in achieving sustainable development.
