Thermophiles

Thermophiles are microorganisms, such as bacteria and archaea, that thrive in extremely hot environments, often between 45°C (113°F) and 122°C (251.6°F). They have special adaptations allowing their proteins and cell membranes to function properly at high temperatures, where most other organisms would denature or break down. Found in places like hot springs, hydrothermal vents, and volcanic areas, thermophiles play important roles in ecosystem processes and have applications in biotechnology, such as in the production of enzymes used in industrial processes. Their unique heat tolerance makes them fascinating subjects for scientific study and practical use.
