Theories of Test Validity
Test validity refers to how well a test measures what it claims to measure. There are three main types: 1. **Content Validity** ensures the test covers all relevant topics. 2. **Construct Validity** assesses if the test accurately reflects the underlying concept, like intelligence or knowledge. 3. **Criterion-related Validity** compares test results with an external standard or outcomes to see if they align. In short, a valid test should truly evaluate what it’s supposed to, providing meaningful and relevant results.
