Theil's U-test
Theil's U-test is a statistical method used to measure the degree of association or dependence between two categorical variables. It helps us understand how much knowing the value of one variable can inform us about the value of another. In simpler terms, if you have two categories, Theil's U tells you how much one category predicts or relates to the other, with values ranging from 0 (no association) to 1 (perfect association). This can be helpful in analyzing patterns in survey data or demographic studies, for example, understanding how education level might relate to job type.
