The Work Capability Assessment (WCA)
The Work Capability Assessment (WCA) is a process used in the UK to evaluate an individual's ability to work when they apply for certain benefits, such as Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). It assesses how physical or mental health conditions affect a person's daily activities and their capacity for work. The assessment includes a questionnaire and, in some cases, an interview. Based on the evaluation, claimants may be placed in different categories: those who can work, those who can work with support, or those who cannot work due to their health condition.
