The Word Virus

A virus is a tiny infectious agent that can only replicate inside the living cells of an organism. Unlike bacteria, viruses are not considered alive because they cannot carry out life processes on their own. They invade host cells, using the cell's machinery to reproduce and spread. This can lead to diseases in humans, animals, and plants. Examples include the common cold, influenza, and COVID-19. Viruses can mutate, making them challenging to control and treat, which is why vaccines and antiviral medications are important for prevention and treatment.
