The SeaLab Project

The SeaLab Project was a series of underwater research experiments conducted by NASA from the 1960s to study human survival and operations in deep-sea environments. Astronauts and scientists lived and worked in specially designed submersibles and underwater habitats for extended periods, simulating conditions of space exploration. The goal was to understand the effects of pressure, isolation, and resource management on humans, providing valuable insights for future space missions. These experiments advanced underwater technology and contributed to our knowledge of human physiology under extreme conditions, bridging terrestrial and extraterrestrial research efforts.
