The Sea Peoples

The Sea Peoples were a confederation of naval raiders who invaded various Mediterranean civilizations during the late Bronze Age, around 1200 BCE. Their origins remain unclear, but they are believed to include groups from the Aegean, Anatolia, and the Levant. The Sea Peoples attacked and contributed to the collapse of several ancient states, including Egypt and the Hittite Empire. Their incursions, along with other factors like climate change and internal strife, marked a significant transition in the region, leading to the end of the Bronze Age and the rise of new powers in the ensuing Iron Age.
