The Rice Method

The Rice Method is a simple way to evaluate the severity of an injury, especially muscle or soft tissue injuries. It stands for Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Rest means avoiding using the injured area to prevent further damage. Ice helps reduce swelling and pain. Compression involves wrapping the area to provide support and limit swelling. Elevation means raising the injured part above heart level to decrease blood flow and swelling. This method helps manage acute injuries effectively, promoting healing and reducing discomfort while waiting for professional medical assessment if needed.
