The Other Campaign

The Other Campaign was a political project by the Zapatista Army of National Liberation in Mexico, starting in 2006. Its goal was to unite marginalized groups—indigenous communities, workers, women, and poor people—across the country to speak out against injustice, inequality, and government corruption. Instead of focusing on elections, it emphasized grassroots activism, dialogue, and building a collective voice. The campaign aimed to raise awareness, inspire social change, and empower communities to challenge oppressive systems through peaceful resistance and organized action.
