The OSEP

The OSEP, or Office of Special Education Programs, is a part of the U.S. Department of Education. Its primary role is to oversee and enhance educational services for children with disabilities. OSEP manages funding, develops policies, and ensures compliance with federal laws like the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It aims to improve outcomes for students with special needs by supporting schools, providing resources, and conducting research. Essentially, OSEP works to ensure that all children, regardless of their challenges, receive a quality education tailored to their needs.
