OSEP (Office of Special Education Programs)
The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) is part of the U.S. Department of Education. It focuses on supporting schools and educators to effectively serve students with disabilities. OSEP develops policies, provides funding, and offers resources to ensure these students receive a free, appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. Its goal is to promote inclusive education, improve educational outcomes, and protect the rights of students with disabilities under laws like the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Essentially, OSEP helps ensure all students with disabilities have access to quality education tailored to their needs.
