The LEP Collaboration

The LEP Collaboration refers to a scientific project involving the Large Electron-Positron Collider, which was operational at CERN from 1989 to 2000. It aimed to study fundamental particles by colliding electrons and positrons, helping scientists investigate the properties of the Z boson and the W boson, which are key to understanding the weak force in physics. The experiments contributed significantly to the Standard Model of particle physics, enhancing our knowledge of matter and the universe's forces. After its success, the LEP was decommissioned and replaced by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), which continues this research at higher energy levels.
