The Leaning Tower of Piza
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a freestanding bell tower in Pisa, Italy, famous for its unintended tilt. Construction began in 1173 and spanned nearly 200 years, during which the foundation was built on unstable soil, causing the structure to lean. Standing about 56 meters tall, the tower features Romanesque architecture with beautiful white and gray marble. It consists of eight stories, including the chamber for the bells. The tilt has been stabilized through extensive restoration efforts. Today, it attracts millions of visitors and symbolizes architectural challenges and the beauty of medieval engineering.
