The League of Nations

The League of Nations was an international organization founded after World War I in 1920, aimed at promoting peace and cooperation among countries. Its main goals were to prevent wars, resolve disputes through dialogue, and improve global welfare. Though it successfully addressed some issues, like health and refugees, it struggled to enforce decisions and prevent aggression, particularly from major powers. The League ultimately failed to stop World War II and was dissolved in 1946, paving the way for the creation of the United Nations, which sought to improve upon its structure and effectiveness in maintaining global peace.
