The Jacobite War

The Jacobite War refers to a series of uprisings in Britain during the late 17th and early 18th centuries, aimed at restoring the Catholic Stuart dynasty to the throne after they were ousted in the Glorious Revolution of 1688. Key events include the Jacobite Rising of 1715 and the more famous Rising of 1745 led by Bonnie Prince Charlie. The wars were characterized by battles, political intrigue, and support from those loyal to the Stuarts. Ultimately, the Jacobites were defeated at the Battle of Culloden in 1746, marking the end of their attempts to reclaim power.
