The Intersectionality Framework

The Intersectionality Framework is a way to understand how different aspects of a person's identity—like race, gender, class, sexuality, and ability—interact and impact their experiences. Instead of considering these identities separately, intersectionality looks at how they combine to create unique challenges and advantages. For example, a Black woman may face discrimination that is different from that experienced by a white woman or a Black man, due to the overlapping effects of both racism and sexism. This framework helps to recognize and address complex social inequalities more effectively.
