The Himalayas
The Himalayas are a vast mountain range in Asia, stretching across five countries: India, Nepal, Bhutan, China, and Pakistan. They are home to some of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest, which is the tallest at 8,848 meters (29,029 feet). Formed by the collision of tectonic plates over millions of years, the Himalayas significantly influence the climate and biodiversity of the region. They are critical for the ecology, providing water to major rivers like the Ganges and the Indus, and hold cultural, spiritual, and economic significance for many communities.
