The Gramsci Monument
The Gramsci Monument is a public art installation designed by artist Maurizio Cattelan and architect Klara Lukacs in 2013, located in the Bronx, New York. Inspired by Italian Marxist thinker Antonio Gramsci, it replicates a neighborhood community center, serving as a space for dialogue, cultural events, and gatherings. The monument aims to encourage discussions around social justice, power, and community resilience, merging art with activism. It temporarily transformed an empty space into a vibrant hub, emphasizing the importance of collective engagement and critical thinking in shaping society.
