The Goodman Model

The Goodman Model, developed by philosopher Nelson Goodman, explores how we classify and predict things based on their properties. It introduces the idea of "grue," a term for objects that are green before a certain time and blue afterward. This challenges our understanding of induction, the process of drawing general conclusions from specific observations. Goodman's model highlights how our perceptions and classifications shape our knowledge and assumptions about the world, prompting questions about the reliability of our reasoning and whether our categories truly reflect reality.
