The Glagolitic alphabet

The Glagolitic alphabet is the oldest known Slavic script, created in the 9th century by Saints Cyril and Methodius to translate religious texts for Slavic peoples. It features unique, ornate characters and was used primarily in liturgical contexts. Although eventually replaced by the Cyrillic alphabet, Glagolitic remains a symbol of Slavic cultural identity. Its design reflects a blend of ancient influences, and it played a crucial role in the development of written Slavic languages, preserving language and religious traditions during early medieval times.
