The Four Stages of Grief

The Four Stages of Grief describe the emotional process many experience after loss: first, denial, where it’s hard to accept the reality; next, anger, feeling frustrated or resentful about the situation; then bargaining, trying to negotiate to reverse or delay the loss; and finally, depression, a period of deep sadness and despair. These stages are not necessarily linear and can recur. Understanding them helps normalize the varied emotions and supports healing, recognizing that grief is a personal journey influenced by individual circumstances and time.
