The Earth

Earth is the third planet from the Sun in our solar system, and it’s the only one known to support life. It has a solid rocky surface with vast oceans covering about 70% of it, giving rise to diverse landscapes like mountains, plains, and forests. The planet's atmosphere, composed mainly of nitrogen and oxygen, protects life from harmful space radiation and helps regulate temperature. Earth orbits the Sun approximately once every 365.25 days, creating the cycle of seasons. It also rotates on its axis, causing day and night. Earth’s dynamic systems—geological, atmospheric, and biological—interact continuously to sustain life.
