The Dáil Éireann

The Dáil Éireann is Ireland’s lower house of parliament, responsible for making national laws and policies. Members, called TDs (Teachtaí Dála), are elected by the public during general elections. The Dáil debates proposed laws, scrutinizes government actions, and allocates funding for public services. It works alongside the upper house, the Seanad, to shape Ireland’s legislation. The Dáil plays a central role in representing citizens’ interests and overseeing the government, ensuring democratic governance and responsible decision-making in the country.
