The Covering Law Model

The Covering Law Model is a way of understanding how we explain events or phenomena using general laws. It suggests that to explain why something happened, we can refer to general principles or laws of nature (like gravity). Essentially, if you can show that a specific event fits within these established laws, then you effectively explain it. For instance, if a ball drops, we can explain it by applying the law of gravity, which states that objects fall towards the Earth. This model helps connect specific instances to broader scientific theories.
