The Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) Model
Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is a therapeutic approach that uses play as the main way for children to express their thoughts and feelings. In a safe, supportive environment, trained therapists allow children to choose their own play activities, which helps them communicate what they're experiencing internally. The therapist listens non-judgmentally, fostering trust and emotional growth. CCPT recognizes children’s natural way of processing emotions through play, and it's effective for addressing issues like anxiety, behavioral problems, and emotional difficulties, promoting healing and self-awareness in a child-friendly manner.
