The Cell
A cell is the basic building block of all living organisms, functioning like a tiny factory. It contains various structures called organelles that perform specific jobs, such as producing energy, making proteins, and disposing of waste. The cell is enclosed by a membrane that controls what enters and exits. Inside, DNA holds the instructions for how the cell operates and reproduces. Cells can vary widely in size and function, but all work together to sustain life, growth, and repair within plants, animals, bacteria, and other organisms.
